Infrastructure Debate at City Hall

04 October 2013

Isabel Dedring, Co-Chair of the LEP’s Infrastructure Group and Deputy Mayor for Transport, will be hosting an event at City Hall on 14 October 2013 to investigate where London should invest in its infrastructure to support expected growth up to 2050.

With more than a million additional people expected to live in the capital over the next decade, representing double the rate of growth than previously predicted, this special GLA event, supported by NLA – London’s Centre for the Built Environment, will invite a series of eminent speakers to examine new infrastructure needs and ask what impact London’s changing economic make-up will have on its long-term infrastructure requirements.

This event will feed into the LEP’s work supporting the Mayor to develop a long-term infrastructure investment plan for London. Isabel will be joined by Professor Dieter Robin Helm, Professor of Energy Policy at the University of Oxford and Fellow in Economics at New College, Oxford, who will give the keynote speech, and Chris Choa of AECOM.

The final strategy will be submitted to the Government in January 2014.
