LEAP Roundtable on Supporting Disabled Entrepreneurs in London

07 March 2019

On 4 March, LEAP hosted a roundtable with disabled entrepreneurs. Chaired by LEAP’s Jamie Izzard, the roundtable was an opportunity to hear about the challenges that these entrepreneurs face when setting up and growing their businesses. The entrepreneurs provided a range of recommendations how the Mayor and the LEAP, via the London Growth Hub, can support these communities. Discussion included the lack of accessible and affordable workspace, lack of support in the workplace and the need for funding.

Deputy Mayor, Jules Pipe CBE and Cllr Peter John OBE were also in attendance and provided insight into the issues being discussed that morning. Recommendations from participants to the Mayor and the LEAP will be fed into our upcoming and current programmes. All roundtable attendees have been invited to meet again in mid-March 2019 to celebrate diversity in business and discuss progress. This was the third in a series of roundtables that LEAP has been hosting to better understand the needs of diverse entrepreneurs in London.
