New LEAP programme will help London’s businesses Start, Scale and Grow

02 May 2017

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and the London Economic Action Partnership (LEAP) have today announced the launch of Start, Scale, Grow, a totally free programme of business support, skills building and mentoring, which will be running at co-working spaces throughout London between May and July 2017.

Owners of start-ups, small businesses or those planning to start a new business can sign up for free for Start, Scale, Grow by registering at bit.ly/start-scale-grow. Once registered, business owners can benefit from one on one mentoring with business experts and a series of masterclasses on key business skills such as financial planning and digital marketing, all delivered at local co-working spaces.

Over the next three months the programme will deliver 60 masterclasses and one-to-one mentoring for 300 business owners, across 10 London co-working spaces. In total, the programme will support over 900 businesses to Start, Scale and Grow following completion of an online diagnostic tool that will help match businesses to their perfect mentor, a series of masterclasses, one-to-one mentoring sessions and a range of online resources.

The programme aims to act as a template for future business support provision in co-working spaces, catalysing workspaces that do not currently provide business support to include this as a key part of their offer.

Start, Scale, Grow will be delivered by NWES, one of the largest not-for-profit enterprise agencies in the UK. The programme forms part of a wider offer of business support from the London Growth Hub, which was established by the London Economic Action Partnership (LEAP) and is supported by the Mayor of London.

Deputy Mayor for Business , Rajesh Agrawal, said: “Sadiq has promised to be the most pro-business Mayor the capital has ever had and the London Growth Hub is a key part of this agenda.

“Start, Scale, Grow is an exciting new initiative aimed at helping London’s businesses find the support they need to realise their potential – and will take that support into the heart of local communities through London’s growing network of co-working spaces.”
