Partnering with London's sub-regions
06 August 2019
We have recently wrapped up our series of roundtable discussions covering our work across London sub-regions.
Starting on 8 July, our first event was in Croydon, before also visiting Greenwich (11 July), Finsbury (19 July) and Ealing (30 July).
It was great to meet with a mix of borough leaders and cabinet members, borough regeneration and economic development leads, businesses and business bodies, as well as representatives from the higher and further education sectors.
These events are a valuable chance for us to highlight our priorities and activities and identify opportunities to partner on supporting businesses and communities.
At each event, we shared an update on our latest activities and programmes and the work happening for the emerging Local Industrial Strategy for London.
We also posed some questions on how we can work more closely with local partners to raise awareness of our work – in particular, highlighting opportunities for funding and business support.
We heard some helpful feedback on how to engage more effectively and harness the power of existing networks.
Attendees also highlighted the need to ensure a good geographic spread of funding allocations and an appetite to work with LEAP to deliver the London Growth Hub business support initiative in local areas.
We would like to thank everyone who attended and presented at these sessions, especially our supporting partners: South London Partnership, Royal Borough of Greenwich, West London Alliance and Central London Forward.
